Grandma (The Seesaw)
(by Marc Ledermann)
I have been your favourite grandchild.
In all those years you gave me your plain heart.
But I'm not worth to be so loved,
I'm a selfish boy.
You would like to see I've found my luck,
But I can't find a girl friend forever.
But all you see is I am your
Only grandboy.
In 1939 your man joined the war,
Left you behind at your home.
With 5 children, your mum, you survived the bane,
But your man, he did die coming back from defeat.
Grandma, that stab into your heart,
It must have torn your world how nothing else could do.
Grandma, well how could you keep up?
You have remained stick to a whole lone widow's life.
And then the Russians, they expelled you from home.
Czechs pinched your house and estate.
So your children have raised in Franconia.
That's 'cos eagle and bear rule small animals' lifes.
Grandma, forever you know now
The world is not a seam, it's rather quite a hell!
Grandma, it's truly the seesaw,
The grief in history, it's going on to bleed!
Grandma, believe me there's grandpa,
He's waiting home for you, why can't you see him, too?
Grandma, however is life there,
Give him my kind regards. I'm begging on my knees!
