Metaphysical Mermaid
(by Marc Ledermann)
Metaphysical mermaid,
You know happiness.
Metaphysical mermaid,
You know real freedom, you're free.
But it's all like silhouettes of water.
I'm walking 'long the beach,
The steely sky's above the sea,
Foam of waves penetrating my eyes
While I'm watching the endless pane of delight.
I lie down in the sand,
I'm dreaming of another land.
When I wake up a girl's above me,
But she flees to the sea as if I'm a freak.
Metaphysical mermaid,
You know happiness.
Metaphysical mermaid,
You know real freedom, you're free.
But it's all like silhouettes of water.
I'm trying ev'rything
That she comes back to me again.
Well, she's got such a tail like a fish.
Yet she waits for me and we're swimming away.
Metaphysical mermaid,
You know happiness.
Metaphysical mermaid,
You know real freedom, you're free.
But it's all like silhouettes of water.
Metaphysical mermaid,
You know happiness.
Metaphysical mermaid,
You know real freedom, you're free.
But it's all like silhouettes of water.
